I'm so sorry you have a chronic thing too. An annoying one! I have lived into remission for 5 autoimmune chronic diseases, (Heart Disease is #6!) and they are all awful! And even in remission, especially my Ulcerative Colitis, is like living with a small child (w/o smiles or kisses or the knowledge that it will end). I have to pack for it and eat special food for it and watch watch watch all the time in case it should fall down a set of steps I wasn't aware of...
I have Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (fancy term for chronic hives) but we suspect I also have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. The treatment is the same so I just stay the course. It’s actually gotten better since I medicated my ADHD bc I’m not stressed out all the time anymore.
With autism also comes a baseline of constant anxiety, so I've learned to manage the emotional dysregulation that comes with this as a priority for my life (and I coach now using these somatic and parts work techniques). Of course being Autistic and ADHD has led to multiple "medical" diagnoses - and I put that in quotes because it's all medical, it's all biological, but the medical system would have us separate everything into specialties; we are each of us a singular biology! ADHD is very common with Autism. I read and appreciate your e-book! Thank you! Dr Amen and his clinics have an e-book for free that discusses the 7 kinds of ADD/ADHD - it has been helpful to me in terms of approaching my own issues. Maybe I can share it here file:///Users/emmagoldman-sherman/Documents/ADD-eBook-2023.pdf (don't know if it'll share like this)
Everyone's personal experience is important. The culture wants us to follow like sheep, yet what I've found, and so many others find, is that there is no one-size fits all for health or wellness when we are only offered medicine based on capitalist goals and the Flexner report (long story that abolished food as medicine and any alternative treatments and approaches). The culture would allow us only 5 senses all outward instead of have us trust our own inner knowing, intuitions and interoceptions. What you offer is invaluable!
Welcome to the ADHD club. :) I’m sorry to hear about the other diagnosis. Hang in there!
Thanks, Kari! At least it's a chronic thing. Yet one more thing to live with...

That's the key, isn't it? To be able to manage the stress levels. I'm glad you're doing better.
